About Kalyaneswar Shiva Temple:
It
is believed that the Shiva Lingam has been emerged from the earth by itself and
found by some local villagers more than 500 years ago. They build a temple
which was sponsored by the Jamindar (local Barron) of that time. A Kali temple also is built in the same campus.
Sri Ramakrishna who lived at Dakshineswar used to
visit the temple frequently along with his followers. Swami Vivekananda, Swami
Brahmananda and others also worshiped in this temple. Till date it is still followed by the monks of Ramakrishna
Order especially on Shivaratri day.
